CHEER ABILITIES

We are proud to offer our Cheer Abilities program ‘BRIGHT STARS’ in 2025, which ensures individuals of all abilities have the opportunity to experience the excitement, teamwork, and joy of cheerleading.

This program is tailored to meet the diverse needs of adaptive ability athletes in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

An adaptive ability athlete is an individual who participates in cheerleading with specific accommodations to support their physical, cognitive, or sensory needs. Our program is designed to provide these athletes with the tools and guidance they need to thrive in a cheerleading environment.

Types Of Cheer Abilities Teams

We offer two types of Cheer Abilities teams, determined by the needs and abilities of the athletes, as well as all relevant safety considerations:

INDEPENDENT TEAMS

100% adapative ability athletes

These teams are comprised entirely of adaptive ability athletes, ensuring routines are designed specifically to celebrate and accommodate their unique skills and needs.

UNIFIED TEAMS

25% : 75% adaptive : non-adaptive

These teams are a combination of adaptive and non-adaptive ability athletes. To ensure a balanced and inclusive experience, no more than 75% of the team can be made up of non-adaptive ability athletes. Unified teams work together to perform routines that highlight the abilities and contributions of every member.

Whilst we strive for an independent team, the type of Cheer Abilities team will be determined with careful consideration of individual needs and team abilities, as well as overall team safety. Our goal is to create an environment where every athlete can grow, succeed, and feel valued as part of a team.
